Remember that anniversary trip I told you about? Well, it happened.
It. Was. Amazing.
What’s not to love about being in the middle of the Caribbean at an all-inclusive resort that caters to your every need and doesn’t allow children?
Things I didn’t do while we were there:
1. Touch my phone. Literally didn’t touch it. It was in the hotel safe the entire trip.
2. Change one diaper.
3. Watch a single Pixar movie.
4. Look at a clock.
5. Microwave a chicken nugget.
6. Do a single load of laundry.
7. Tell people to stop arguing.
It was heaven. We went snorkeling, napped by the beach, read our Kindles, met so many great people, became entirely too familiar with the swim-up bar, and … well, the rest I’m going to keep to myself.
We had to fly into the Cancun airport to get to Playa del Carmen. The last time I’d been to Cancun was 13 years ago for Spring Break my senior year in college {OMFG. Totally depressed right now.} When I was there that first time back in 1842, I remember standing on the balcony of our hotel room and telling one of my best girlfriends that I was positive that I was going to marry my boyfriend of just a few weeks. That boyfriend was AJ. It wasn’t super convenient timing considering we’d just started dating a matter of months before graduation and I wasn’t really looking to get into a relationship. We were basically children.
But two kids and ten years later, may I finally say that….
I WAS TOTALLY RIGHT!!!!
