Today I hosted the first of what I hope will be many Pinterest Parties. It was the brainchild of my office neighbor, Amy, and me. We invited several girlfriends who have the same passion for Pinterest that we do to join us in an afternoon of DIYing and wine drinking. And brownie eating.

The concept was super simple: just bring the materials for your craft. Knowing that the rest of us would also have materials, the idea was that we could help plus up or help out with each other’s project.

That proved to be true with the project I chose. I made ornaments inspired by this pin. {For instructions, please see link.}

While the glitter I chose was intended to look like snowballs, the glitter that Amy brought kicked my glitter’s ass.

Check out the sequin ornament that a friend made using my glass ornament and the sequins she brought for another project It has kind of a kaleidoscope vibe going on.

See some of the other items my friends made:

{Hot glued silver ornaments to a white tinsel wreath}

{Yarn wrapped around a straw wreath. Hot glued pre-made felt balls.}

One of the ladies made a Tooth Fairy door for her son’s room:

{A wooden door intended for a homemade dollhouse that she painted and will hang by his nightstand.}

And one of my friends made friendship bracelets with clasps so you can take them on and off. She’ll be giving these as gifts this holiday season.

{Look at those blurry hands braiding furiously.}

Avery even scored one. It took like three minutes to make because her wrist is so small.

Speaking of Avery, one of the most super special parts of the evening was that two of my friends brought their daughter & niece so there were three little girls to craft with us. We got them all squared away with wooden ornaments to paint and foam Christmas trees to decorate. They wanted none of it. They just wanted to eat their sucker and watch Annie.

It was a great kick-off to the holiday season. I’m so motivated to make even more of the glitter ornaments and try my hand at some of the other crafts my friends made. I can’t wait to decorate my house for the holidays!
