We have a pre-reader living at our house. I’ve spent a lot of time labeling everything in our home and Avery is constantly interrupting us to let us know what everything starts with. Most mornings I find her in Nolan’s crib (she’s pulled her bathroom stool into his room to climb in) “reading” piles of books to him. We encourage her to tell us what the pictures say in an excercise of pre-reading.
The other day, she pulled a book off of Nolan’s bookshelf and told us
“It’s time to read a book. This one is called…ummm…Rubbing Yourself and Washing Yourself.”
I can’t wait to see what kind of search results lead to my blog as a result of this post. They’ll be severely disappointed.
Tomorrow? We’ll have excerpts from my interview with Avery where she tells me what she thinks I do all day and what she wants to be when she grows up.
